OUR CHALLAH STORY
Challah for Hunger (CfH) brings people together to bake and sell challah, in an effort to raise money and awareness for social justice causes. There are currently 80+ chapters around the world.
Each chapter donates a portion of its profits to our national cause, Swipe Out Hunger, and the remaining portion to support local organizations, such as UMD's Campus Pantry.
Each month groups of students from the University of Maryland come together to braid challah and learn about how they can help in fight against campus hunger.
For all the volunteers and customers, Challah for Hunger provides opportunities to be involved in a fun and dedicated community, address humanitarian problems, develop and practice new skills like baking and marketing, gain business and leadership experience, engage in traditions of challah and tzedakah, and become involved in advocacy!
Challah for Hunger is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations can be made to Challah for Hunger National through their donation portal and are tax deductible to the fullest extend of the law.
